Healthy Miso Glazed Salmon Recipe Details

  • A mixing bowl

  • A shallow dish for marinating

  • A skillet or frying pan

  • A spatula

  • A whisk


  • 4 Salmon fillets (6 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons miso paste

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Green onions & sesame seeds for garnish



In a bowl, whisk together miso paste, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic to make the glaze.


Place the salmon fillets in a dish and pour the glaze over them. Marinate for 30 minutes.


Heat olive oil in a pan over high heat.


Place the salmon fillets skin side down in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes.


Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until cooked through.


Remove from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.


Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve.


Select fresh salmon with a vibrant pink color and a firm texture. For the miso paste, I recommend using white or yellow miso as they have a milder flavor compared to red miso. Combining honey with miso creates a perfect balance between sweetness and umami. Don’t over-marinate – 30 minutes should be enough. When cooking, opt for high heat to sear the salmon quickly, locking in the juices and flavors. Lastly, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds to add a pop of color and an extra layer of taste.
