  • an oven

  • a baking sheet

  • a knife

  • a bowl

  • 500 grams of your favorite mushrooms

  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon of thyme

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Clean your mushrooms with a damp cloth and cut into halves or quarters if they are large.

In a bowl, mix together the cleaned mushrooms, minced garlic, olive oil, thyme, salt, and pepper until the mushrooms are well coated.

Spread the mushrooms in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until mushrooms are tender and lightly browned.

Let them cool a bit before serving.

I've picked up a few tricks to make this recipe even better. First, ensure you clean the mushrooms properly. A damp cloth or paper towel works best to remove any dirt or grit without the mushroom absorbing too much water. Secondly, when it comes to the garlic, fresh is best. The pre-minced garlic in jars may seem convenient, but nothing beats the strong, vibrant flavor of freshly minced garlic. Lastly, don't rush the roasting process. Slow roasting ensures the mushrooms release their juices, creating a delightful natural sauce that's full of flavor.
