  • Spatula

  • Brownie Pan

  • Oven

  • Toothpick for testing

Ingredients

  • 1 cup black beans (cooked and drained)

  • 2 scoops of your favorite protein powder

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil

  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • A pinch of salt

  • Optional: Nuts, dark chocolate chips

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a brownie pan.

2

In a food processor, blend the black beans until smooth.

3

Add cocoa powder, protein powder, coconut oil, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt. Blend until well combined.

4

Optionally, stir in nuts or chocolate chips.

5

Pour the batter into the greased pan and smooth the top.

6

Bake for 15-18 minutes. Check with a toothpick; it should come out mostly clean.

7

Let them cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For the best brownies, make sure the black beans are well-drained and rinsed. This eliminates any excess moisture and ensures a fudgy texture. Also, I recommend using high-quality cocoa powder, as it's the star ingredient that imparts a rich chocolate flavor. When it comes to protein powder, feel free to use any variant – whey, plant-based, or casein. This is a chance to personalize the brownies to your taste and dietary preferences.
