Creamy Sauteed Mushroom Recipe Details

  • Large sauté pan or skillet

  • Knife

  • Cutting board

  • Stirring spoon

  • Measuring cups and spoons


  • 500g fresh mushrooms (button or cremini)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley for garnish

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)



Clean the mushrooms and slice them evenly.


Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add butter and olive oil.


Once the butter melts, add the garlic and onion. Sautee until they become translucent.


Add the mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned and have released their moisture.


Lower the heat and add the heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.


Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley and optional Parmesan cheese.


Serve hot with rice, pasta, or as a side dish.


Using fresh mushrooms is key. Clean them by gently wiping with a damp cloth. Do not wash them as they absorb water. Sautee them on high heat to allow caramelization which unlocks their flavors.
