Equipment

  • Wok or large frying pan

  • Mixing Bowl

  • Cutting Board

  • Knife

  • Measuring spoons

  • Stirring spoon

Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless, skinless chicken breasts (thinly sliced)

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)

  • 1 medium carrot (julienned)

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Spring onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

1

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and ginger.

2

Marinate the chicken in this sauce for 30 minutes.

3

In a wok or large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

4

Add the chicken to the wok and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

5

In the same wok, add a bit more oil if needed, then add broccoli, bell pepper, and carrot. Stir-fry until they are slightly tender.

6

Return the chicken to the wok.

7

Mix cornstarch in cold water and add it to the wok.

8

Cook until the sauce thickens.

9

Garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds.

10

Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

Marinating the chicken in the sauce for at least 30 minutes enhances flavors. While stir-frying, ensure the pan is hot enough but be mindful not to burn the garlic and ginger. Experiment with different vegetables like snap peas or mushrooms. If you want a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch in cold water before adding it to the pan. Lastly, using a wok gives the best results, but a large frying pan works well too.
