Equipment

  • Oven

  • Mixing bowl

  • Baking sheet

  • Saucepan

  • Spoon

  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 500g ground turkey or beef

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup Sriracha sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

1

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

2

In a bowl, combine ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, onions, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

3

Form the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet.

4

Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until fully cooked.

5

While the meatballs are baking, combine honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat until slightly thickened.

6

Toss the cooked meatballs in the sauce.

7

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Using ground turkey instead of beef will make your meatballs tender and juicy. Mix the meatball ingredients gently. Overmixing can make them dense. Saute onions and garlic before adding them to the mix for a richer flavor. Use panko breadcrumbs for a lighter texture. To ensure even cooking, form the meatballs into consistent sizes. To avoid drying them out, avoid overcooking the meatballs.
